This Privacy Policy describes how Torch of Knowledge (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application and related services (the “App”), including practice lessons, AI tutoring features, account management, and optional push notifications. 2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the App, we may collect:
- Account information such as name, email address, and password (handled by our authentication provider).
- Profile information you choose to provide, such as a display name or profile photo.
- Learning and usage data such as progress, bookmarks, practice activity, AI chat usage within plan limits, and similar in-app activity.
- Device and technical data such as device type, operating system, app version, language settings, crash logs, performance metrics, and diagnostic information.
- Push notification tokens if you allow notifications, so we can send study reminders or service messages.
- Microphone or media input when you use speech features, image picker, or similar optional tools. Audio or images are processed only when you actively use those features.
- Support messages you send through our website contact form or email.
3. How we use information
- Create and manage your account
- Provide learning content, practice tools, and AI assistance
- Track plan usage and enforce product limits
- Improve reliability, fix crashes, and measure performance
- Send optional push notifications you enable
- Respond to support requests
- Prevent abuse, secure the service, and comply with law
4. Service providers
We use trusted third-party providers to operate the App. These may include:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage
- Google Firebase — analytics, crash reporting, performance monitoring, remote configuration, and cloud messaging
- AI / inference providers — to power tutoring or chat features when you use them
- Netlify — to host our website, privacy policy, and support form
These providers process data only as needed to provide their services to us, under their own privacy terms and applicable agreements.
5. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers listed above, when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of users and the App.
6. Data retention
We retain account and learning data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You may request account deletion through the App (where available) or by contacting us. Some logs and backups may persist for a limited period for security and operational reasons.
7. Your choices and rights
- Update profile details in the App
- Disable push notifications in device settings
- Request access, correction, or deletion of your account data
- Stop using the App at any time
Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws. Contact us to exercise those rights.
8. Children’s privacy
The App is intended for general educational use. If you believe a child has provided personal data without appropriate consent, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International transfers
Our providers may process data in countries other than where you live. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
11. Changes to this policy
